Will The Motorola Olympus On AT&T Be Revealed At CES?
According to a rumor being reported by Intomobile, the high-end Motorola Olympus could be announced on AT&T as early as CES next week. Motorola traditionally markets high-end smartphones under the DROID brand for Verizon Wireless, and the Olympus could represent Motorola’s first high-end phone on AT&T. AT&T is also the only carrier without a flagship Android device, but the Olympus could easily change that.
Lately, many of the rumors swirling around have been of the HTC Thunderbolt, Motorola DROID XOOM, or the iPhone on Verizon, causing the Olympus has taken a back seat. However, the Olympus is really an excellent smartphone featuring a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, probably a 4 inch display, and Android 2.3. Of course, much of these specs are rumors at this point, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see such a phone be announced by Motorola at CES 2011. The only possible downside to the Olympus is Motoblur, as Motorola refuses to do away with its custom Android skin.
Just like every other rumor we’ve heard in the past week, it looks like we’ll have to wait until CES 2011 for confirmation.
