WSJ: Verizon Wireless Will NOT Carry The Samsung Galaxy S II

According to a report by the WSJ, who received confirmation from Verizon Wireless Spokeswoman Brenda Raney, the largest wireless carrier in the United States will not carry the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone.

Verizon did not elaborate any further on why they declined to carry the Galaxy S II, but did mention that they already carry the high-end Samsung DROID Charge with 4G LTE connectivity, so a launch of the Galaxy S II did not make complete sense.  In addition, Verizon Wireless has been rumored to launch the upcoming Google Nexus Prime manufactured by Samsung.  If that rumor turns out to be true, then Verizon would be carrying three solid Samsung offerings if the Galaxy S II launched.

If you had your heart set on the Samsung Galaxy II, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile are all expected to launch the iconic smartphone, with official confirmation coming August 29th.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
