Android games based off of movies can go either way, so I was surprised and a little apprehensive when I noticed [REC]- The Video game had popped into the market. REC the game is based on the Spanish movie from director Jaume Balagueró, if you haven’t seen the original there’s a good chance you caught the US remake called Quarantine. Personally I enjoyed both, but this isn’t about the movie, it’s about [REC] The Game and here’s what we know so far…

Android games that let you make food have become quite popular, and there’s a new one out called Pizza Picasso from Animoca that puts you in charge of making pizzas. There are no goals, time limits and there’s really no point to the game except to make pizzas in almost every conceivable way.
With gas prices constantly on the rise activities like Drag Racing have become more expensive. That’s where games like Slyon Street Tuner from Slyon Studios can come in handy as you can lay down a little rubber without ever leaving the couch.
The n7player is a new music player for Android that will let you listen to tunes in style. The app has a super-slick 3D interface that will WOW you, and it’s a breeze to use as it makes finding your favorite tunes easy while you’re on the go.
Huzzah! That’s the only word that came to mind when I noticed that Com2uS had finally released Homerun Battle 2 for Android. Personally, I’ve long considered the original to be the best sports game around, and am psyched to see what Homerun Battle 2 has in store for us.
Machineworks is best known for its port of Duke Nukem 3D, and they’ve just added another Android game to their catalog with Painkiller: Purgatory HD. Painkiller drops you into the limbo known as Purgatory and has you taking out ghouls, demons, and all sorts of horrible creatures as you await purification in the underworld.
There are more Android apps based on photo editing/drawing that you can shake a stick at, and we just added one more to the list with Live Graffiti from Live Typing Studios. This handy little app has amassed over 7 million downloads on Mother Russia’s social network VK.com, and is now set to take on the states along with the rest of the world as it’s now available for Android.
The game developer Tournesol is slowly becoming one of my favorites as they’ve just dropped another killer Android game with a Retro feel called Fill the Gap. If you’re a fan of Tertris or games that really put your skills to the test, you’re going to be a big fan of Fill The Gap.
Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead got a treat a few weeks ago with a new Android game called The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning. As promised, we’re back with a full review of this awesome game and if you’re a fan of the series, The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning is a game you won’t want to miss.
Monstrous is a puzzling new Android from Liquid Gameworks that’s bound to leave you scratching your head more than once. This puzzler drops you into the mysterious Demon realm, and puts you to work taking out the deadly demons. The gameplay mechanic is what makes this game interesting as it will turn your world upside down… literally.
Smuggle Truck, Snuggle Truck or whatever you want to call it… I’ve been hearing about this game from my iPhone friends since the first of the year. Well, now I’ll no longer have to hear about it as Owlchemy Labs has finally released the quirky little game for Android.

It never ceases to amaze me how many times companies can make the same kind of Android app, but still manage to make it different and stand out. Such is the case with a new Photo editing app Pix: Pixel Mixer from colonO. It may have a lot of the same functions as other older apps, but it manages to make photo filters fun and it’s a breeze to use.
There are tons of Puzzle games in the Android Market, and a new one from MiniClip called Pictorial is one you’ll want to note if you enjoy the genre. Pictorial takes puzzling to new heights, literally as you’ll solve puzzles made out of stars.
Deep down everyone likes a little bit of disaster, and a new Android Game from EgonDev called Patient Zero can give you just that. Patient Zero is a GPS game that lets you get down with the sickness as you try and spread your custom virus around the globe.
