We’re back today with Day 10 of Google’s 10 billion downloads .10 cent app deal, and sadly it’s the last day. The Big G has given us some great apps over the last 10 days, and today they are giving users eight games and four apps. They’ve even included one of my personal favorites called Apparatus and another I’ve wanted to try for awhile called Star Chart.
Oh Boy! That’s what I thought when I first woke up this morning, checked the market and saw that Rockstar has finally released Grand Theft Auto III for Android. This classic from 91’ holds a special place in my heart as well as the hearts of any gamer that owned a PS2 over the past decade. If you’ve never heard of the game and are thinking “What’s Grand Theft Auto?” you are probably too young to play it anyway so move along now youngster. If you gamed during the 90s there is no doubt you know exactly what GTA III is about, and how much fun you can have cruising around good ol’ Liberty City…
Seems like the week isn’t complete without some Zombie related Android news, and this week is no different as Popcap’s popular game Plants vs. Zombies is finally, officially available in the Android Market. Peggle, another of their popular games has also made the jump to the market, but we all know it’s all about those pesky Zombies. PvZ has been available on Android for awhile now, but only through Amazon’s App store which left some people out in the cold until today.
We’re back today with Day 9 of Google’s great .10 cent app deal promotion, and again there are some great ones to choose from. Today’s emphasis is on games and some of the bigger developers like Glu Mobile, Gamevil, Camel Games, and Polarbit have provided games for the sale.
Last week Google started a little thing called 10 Billion Downloads 10 Days of Offers for Top Premium Apps. This limited promotion gives users a real deal as they are giving away some truly great apps for only .10 cents a piece! When I first saw the little logo in the market with a BB gun the infamous Leg lamp from A Christmas Story… I instantly knew I had to check A Christmas Game out. Fans of the hit ABC show Scrubs will have something to cheer about soon, as Herocraft is bringing an official Scrubs game to Android. I actually did a double take when I first got the news; while I’m a huge fan of JD and the gang myself, I never thought about a Scrubs game oddly enough. Thanks to the fine folks at Herocraft, I got to take an early sneak peek at Scrubs and here’s a brief rundown of what you can expect when it hits the market.
What happens when you cross a Polaroid with a Troll? You get Trollaroid! Trollaroid is a funky Android App from Work of Trolls that lets you take pictures of people and turn them into trolls. This is all done through fancy programming rather than the use of Arcane magic or other nefarious means which is great for everyone involved.

Glu Mobile has put out some great games over the past few years, and they’ve covered a lot of different genres as well. Their newest game titled Cut the Cheese: Fudge Dragon is their take on Fruit Ninja, but with a smelly twist in the form of cheese… and farts.
Fans of classic gaming got something to grin about this week as Digital Leisure released the old school game Dragon’s Lair into the Android market. That’s right folks, if you’re old enough to remember the original waaaaaay back in 83’ you’ll be psyched when you first fire up the game and start the quest to help Dirk get Princess Daphne back from the evil wizard Mordroc. Everything you loved about the original is present in the Android version, and Don Bluth’s animations are just as cool now as they were back then.
Save the Kingdom…never give up…Beyond Ynth! That little phrase has been stuck in my head ever since I first fired up the award winning game called Beyond Ynth from FDG Entertainment. Beyond Ynth is the most polished Puzzle game I’ve seen in ages, and it’s got the catchiest theme song since Burn the Rope. Great music and polish don’t make a great game, but that’s not the case with Beyond Ynth as it’s got everything you’re looking for in a great game and more…
Fans of the popular Tower Defense games from the GRave Defense series have reason to rejoice as we just got a new TD game in the form of Night of the Living Dead Defense. If you hadn’t guessed this is a take on the Romero classic, and Art of Bytes along with SGN Android have put out a game that’s going to drive you nuts as you’ll already know if you’ve played the previous GRave games…
Putter King Adventure Golf is a brand new 3D mini golf game from Putter King. The game has been popular in Japan for awhile now, and after playing it myself I can tell you it’s going to be a bit hit in other countries and on Android as well.
There aren’t too many people out there that enjoy a trip to the dentist, but there is a new Android game that can make the Dentist seem a bit more fun. Monster Mouth DDS is a great new game from Breaktime Studios that has you playing dentist to a bunch of whacky monsters. While Monsters may be scary they want to keep those teeth clean and you’ll help them out in this fun little game.
