Everyone loves a good Top 10 list, and for awhile now we’ve been meaning to do a few lists for a few of the Top developers to highlight their best Android Games. Well, we’re going to start today and first up is the gaming giant known as Gameloft.
After an exclusive launch in June of this year on the then newly released Samsung Galaxy S 3 mobile handset, the social reader app Flipboard then went on to achieve a welcome and successful general release across the Android platform through Google Play. The app has become a popular addition to the Android market and the app developer has just released an update to Flipboard to improve the news reader even further.
Just a couple of days ago Angry Birds creator Rovio teased Angry fans over the world with an image indicating that a mysterious new character would be entering the world of the Angry Birds franchise. The image showed a pair of cute but slightly angry eyes with luscious long lashes and the accompanying words “who turned out the lights” which led many to speculate that the lashes were definitely that of a female character. However, it wasn’t known at that time if the eyes in question belonged to an Angry Bird or one of the mischievous pigs in the series.
There’s an Android game for about any animal you can think of and Sheep are no exception. The newest Sheep based game is a little gem called HolySheep from Three Monkeys, and if you like your games with a dash of quirky this one’s just for you…
While tablets and phones have replaced desktop and computers for most tasks, there are just some things which only run on a PC, not to mention that multi-tasking is usually also much easier on a Windows or Mac powered computer than your Android tablet. Or sometimes, there are just documents that are only on your computer and haven’t been uploaded to the cloud. Whatever the reason, the Splashtop app from Splashtop has been very popular on both the iOS and Android platforms and is available for phones and tablets.
There are a lot of Android Apps and Games out there that deal with stress relief, and most of them deal with smacking folks around. Kick the Boss from Game Hive Corporation is one such game, and it truly makes kicking the old boss around quite a bit of fun.
The company behind the very popular and successful Angry Birds series have been very busy of late. As well as releasing their first non Angry Birds game ‘Amazing Alex’, Rovio also showed off an update to their most recent Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Space. We know that sometime in the Fall, Rovio will send the Angry Birds off to the Red Planet.
I normally don’t cover much tech unless it’s something I think is really cool, and luckily KickStarter is full of cool gear. When browsing for things to invest in I recently stumbled across a little project that’s set to change the game… the charging game that is as ChargeCard looks to be a simple an effective way to charge your mobile device.
DeNa and Hasbro have signed a three year deal together, allowing DeNa to release Transformer themed games through its social gaming network developer, Mobage. DeNa are the publishers behind the highly popular virtual card game Rage of Bahamut. The first Transformer themed game to be published by DeNA will also be a virtual card game which will be available on the Android platform.
As NASA take a step into the unknown by landing on Mars with it’s Curiosity rover space vehicle, Rovio have also jumped onto the space wagon by announcing that their ever popular Angry Birds are also on the way to Mars in the near future.
Full Fat Games entered the realm of freemium titles last week when they released their first free game called Agent Dash. It’s to be expected as a lot of companies are going that route, but what’s unexpected is how damn fun Agent Dash is as its hands down one of the best Endless Running games I’ve played.
As third party browsers go, Dolphin Browser HD is pretty much the king. With so many features that users love and features that would be a blessing on the ‘official’ browsers of mobile phones, Dolphin is a joy to use. Phosphor have released a trailer for their upcoming adventure game Horn. The game has been compared to Infinity Blade which is an iOS exclusive game but, with a feel of Fable and Zelda about it.
Gameloft has long been a developer to pay attention too, and over the past 6 months they’ve consistently put out solid top tier games. Well it seems like you can add another title to that growing list as they recently released a cool little game called Monster Life for Android.
A couple of days ago Google updated their Wallet app to include support for Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards, where as previously only pre-paid debit cards and Citibank Mastercard were supported.
