Acer announces its first 5-inch smartphone, names it Acer Liquid S1

acer liquid s1 Over at Computex 2013 in Taipei, Acer seems to have started the fire by way of announcing several new gadgets such as the Acer Liquid S1. This smartphone happens to be Acer’s first to have a size bigger than 5-inch. The Acer Liquid S1 sports a 5.7-inch HD 1280×720 screen and comes powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Acer Liquid S1 also comes with a 1.5GHz processor and a battery pack that you could last up to one of use. Acer is posing this device as its entry into the “Phablet” market, if there is ever such a thing. Or to be safe, this can be considered Acer’s entry into the expanding 5-inch smartphone space. As such, Acer claims that the Liquid S1 combines the workd efficiency of a tablet with the convenience and multimedia-rich features of a smartphone. The Acer Liquid S1 lets you access documents and files while on the move through file retrieval technology known as AcerCloud docs or remotely access files from PC throuhg Acer Remote Files. There’s also Acer Float User Interface which lets you multitask without closing apps such as camera, maps, calculator and notes. Acer is also gearing up the Liquid S1 as a powerhouse mobile entertainment device. As such, it features HD streaming and vivid HD playback, photo taking capabilities, video recording and the capability to create and edit media.There’s also voice shot that lets you capture photos just by saying “cheese!” as well as smile shot for detecting smiling faces and automatically capturing special moments in real time. Other features of the Acer Liquid S1 include DTS Studio sound, and live sharing via 2-way Live Screen. The Acer Liquid S1 is expected to ship starting Q3 2013 in France Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia, UK and Germany. Later on, it will also be release d in Italy and Spain.Price tag is a €349.
