Acer Teases CES With Quad-Core Powered Iconia Tab Running Android 4.0

It’s not an official CES without at least one company revealing a prototype to a drool-worthy device.  In this case, Acer has set the tone for the rest of the show by revealing an upcoming tablet to its Iconia Tab series of Android tablets.  The new and unnamed tablet boasts Android 4.0, a 10.1 inch display with full 1080p resolution, NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 5MP rear facing camera, and WiFi. Already, this tablet clearly sounds like a beast that is likely to lead its class with powerful specs.  At CES, the tablet was shown off running stock Android Ice Cream Sandwich, but no one was able to get close enough for a hands-on with the tablet.  At this point, there is no information on pricing or availability, but hopefully, it will be available for the general public in the second half of 2012 at a reasonable price point. Update: The Acer table will be known as the Acer Iconia Tab A700 when and if it comes to launch.
