Android Market Now Has App Suggestion via "Similar" Tab

by On December 4, 2010

Did you notice something different today while browsing the Android Market on your Android phone? No? Well, check it again. Try searching for an application, for example – “Favorites.” Tap on Favorites by Android-Apps to get to the application details page. Now, take a look at the three tabs on top of the page. There is now a third tab labeled – “Similar.” ┬áSurprised? Now tapping on that tab will bring you other applications which are related or similar to the current app you’ve selected from the app search results. If you’re Android phone is still on it, you’d notice that there’s quite a lot of similar apps to our Favorites Android app. Google did not make any announcement about this new feature of the Android Market. It just appeared there quietly. Probably because it’s a minor feature. But I don’t think so. This is a big change. It’s very useful as well, especially if you’re looking for new Android apps to install on your Android phones. Instead of randomly browsing for new apps, now you can zero in to apps related to what you’ve already knew. So, what do you think? Is the Similar apps tab of the Android Market useful to you? By the way, since you’re already there, if you haven’t done so, you might want to download our “Favorites” app. It’s a pretty useful Android app as well (shameless plug!)
