Archos 70 Now Available For $279, Sports Android 2.2 and Front Facing Camera

by On November 3, 2010

If you are looking for a quality Android tablet and the Samsung Galaxy Tab costs more than you are willing to pay, then consider the Archos 70, the newest Android Internet Tablet to join the family. Yesterday, we saw the launching of the Archos 43, which is an Android tablet with a 4.3 inch screen. The Archos 70 is a similar device except it has a 7 inch screen, Android 2.2, and a front facing camera. It features a 7 inch touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 8GB or 250GB of storage, WiFi connectivity, and a VGA front facing camera for video chat. Furthermore, it features a kick stand to make watching videos comfortable, built-in speakers, and a 3D graphics accelerator. It is currently available through Archos for $279 for the 8GB model. The 250GB model costs $349, but both models feature microSD expansion, so you could conceivably add an extra 32GB of storage space to either model.
