Archos shows off 97 Titanium a high resolution tablet

by On December 23, 2012

Archos haven’t been making the news more often than most of the companies these days but it caught our eye with its 97 Titanium. Samsung for one can’t stop showing us new devices every week, ZTE and Huawei are also following pursuit having high profile leaks. Archos on the other hand has already showed its latest Android tabled called the 97 Titanium. The 97 titanium is called that due to the screen size the device has, which is 9.7 inches and thankfully not 97 (that would be stupid…or will it?). The 97 Titanium has a 9.7 inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2048×1536 running at 264 PPI. That is almost equal to the Apple iPad 4’s juicy display. The large tablet will be running a 1.6 GHz dual core processor with 1GB worth of RAM. The device will come with only 8 GB on board memory which is a bummer, although there is a microSD card slot for further expansion. Archos reckons that the 97 Titanium would be able to handle a 64 GB card with ease. There is a rear facing camera of 5 MP and a 2 MP front one. The device will be running Android version 4.1 A.K.A Jelly Bean. And it seems that Archos has chosen a more vanilla version of the OS rather than make their own play. The more “traditional” Android experience can be seen reflected by the standard layout the device holds. Despite the name the device will be housed in Aluminum rather than Titanium which is still better than what other plasticy tablets are going for these days. Yet again there is no word of the release of the beautiful looking device, nor do we have a price. But if you are a fan of great looking tablets which run almost stock Android this is the deal.
