ASTRO File Manager gets a much-need update, now integrated with Skydrive and more

by On November 15, 2012

When it comes to file manager Android apps, ASTRO File Manager is perhaps the most loved and most used by many Android users. It was my file manager of choice when I was still new to Android and exploring its many features. And I’m pretty sure many of you are still using it, so you’ll be glad to know the ASTRO File Manager was just given a refresh via an update which is available now from Google Play. New to the app is Skydrive integration which will surely please those who use Microsoft SkyDrive as your cloud storage. This feature adds to the app’s current support for Dropbox and Google Drive. So it means that you’ll have more options to choose when backing up files from your Android devices for easy access later on. There’s also the new in-app image viewer that lets you rotate and share images and a new text editor. Other new features of the app include the ability to search files by type regardless of location and the side swipe functionality to get to Clouds, Network locations and saved searches in a faster way. ASTRO File Manager is available as a free download from Google Play.
