As of now the Mobile World Congress has failed to really entice us, sure there have been some sparks but no explosions. ASUS Padfone Infinity comes as close to as an explosion as it can be, but unfortunately a single problem douses the fuse with water. We will get to that later; first let us explain what this gadget is and what it actually does. The ASUS Padfone Infinity is a Smartphone which docks in a tablet. This is not a new concept though, ASUS has released almost two other similarly named devices, both of them were held back by limited availability in the international markets. The ASUS Padfone Infinity contains a smartphone which is admirably well equipped. It comes with a Full HD 5 inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and Adreno 320 GPU. The combo also has 2 GB of RAM. The tablet also has remarkable screen, 10.1 inch and 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. The specs are stellar and when combined with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, will run smooth and fast. The ASUS Padfone Infinity will also boot a 13 MP rear facing camera while the front facing one is clocked at 1.2 MP. The ASUS Padfone Infinity will be available in 32 and 64 GB flavors. The Phone has a serviceable 2400 mAh battery but when docked in the “Infinity Station” Asus promises around 40 hours of power on a single charge, impressive. The ASUS Padfone Infinity is also build with premium materials, ASUS says that the “slender unibody design is crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum”. Looks like ASUS Padfone Infinity is looking to go to infinity and beyond this time. So what is the deal breaker? Well for on the ASUS Padfone Infinity is priced at €999, which comes around $1325. Secondly its availability is only confirmed in Europe, while no word is out regarding the U.S release. Well it’s always sad to see such a great piece of tech fail.
