There are scores of word games out there, from word searches to guessing games there’s a little something for everyone. W.E.L.D.E.R. is the newest Android game to join the pack and it’s a game that comes with a lot of clout as it won numerous awards when it was released on iOS last year. In case you were wondering about the odd name W.E.L.D.E.R. stands for Word Examination Laboratory for Dynamic Extraction and Reassessment. In case that fried your brain, we’ll just say it’s a word game that lets you try to make words out of scrambled up letters on a board. You can swap tiles, stamp blank tiles, and go at it crossword style as long as your words are four letters long. You’ll also get some special game changing abilities like Reverse, Group, and Jump Swaps. There are multiplier tiles and Apocalypse swaps and if that’s not enough there’s even an in-game dictionary where you can check on words. Out of all the cool sounding features the one I’d probably get the most use out of is the “redo” button as it’s always nice to be able to redo an ill thought out move. I did give W.E.L.D.E.R. a brief play this morning, and it’s just as cool as all my iOS friends said it was. The way you go about putting words together is a bit different, and I also enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the game. There’s no free version available to try at this time, but you can get the full version of Ayopa Games W.E.L.D.E.R. for $2.99 on Google Play.
