Electronic Arts has been on a tear lately, releasing several new games in the past few months. Their latest game is Bejeweled Blitz, and if you love Bejeweled you’ll definitely dig Blitz. Bejeweled Blitz is EA’s second “blitz” game, but the first one to see a wide release as Tetris Blitz still hasn’t gone global. As the name implies, the goal of Bejeweled Blitz is to match and detonate gems as quickly as you can, and you’re only going to get 60 seconds to do so. That’s not much time (Tetris is 2 minutes), but luckily you’ll get some boosts to help you out like detonators, scramblers, and mystery gems. You can use coins to buy up to three boosts before each game, and there are five different ones to choose from. The past few games Electronic Arts have put out have been impressive, but you always have to be wary of the in-app purchasing system in their titles. I’m happy to say that Bejeweled Blitz doesn’t seem to have the excessive IAP issue (so far), and it’s polished in every area. Nice job by EA, and it’s a game you’ll want to check out. If you’re ready to kill the rest of your day, head on over to Google Play and pick up Bejeweled Blitz for free.
