best.new.android.games-May1. Sonic The Hedgehog

The top spot on our Best New Android Games list this week was a no-brainer. Sonic the Hedgehog finally zoomed onto Android, and it’s the original game that started it all back in 1991. If there’s even been a perfect port of a game, this is it. It works flawlessly, and it’s a title any true gamer should have in his collection. Sega’s Sonic The Hedgehog is available to download for $2.99 on Google Play.sonic.hedgehog

2. Factory Balls

Factory Balls is an interesting new Indie that will tie your brain into knots. You’ll have to change the shape and color a little white ball to match the picture on a box which is much harder than it sounds – especially when goggles and plungers come into play. If you like puzzle games it’s a game you’ll want to check out, and you can download it for $0.99 on Google Play.factory.balls

3. Dig!

Dig! is the latest and greatest from the folks at Crescent Moon Games, and as the title implies it’s all about digging. You’ll dig up artifacts, dodge mummies, and try to help a rich old coot stock his museums. It’s an awesome little game, and it’ll only set you back $2.99.dig.android-2

4. Lego Star Wars

The Lego Group surprised us yesterday when they unleashed Yoda in Lego Star Wars for Android. You’ll get to stomp around in the Lego themed Star Wars universe with Yoda as you take on The Dark Side. We haven’t had a chance to try this one out yet, but you can expect a full review by the end of the week. Lego Star Wars is free to download on Google Play.lego.star.wars

5. Finding Teddy

Finding Teddy is a retro point and click adventure game that follows a little girl in search of her teddy. It’s a trippy game full of crazy creatures, and the backdrops a sight to behold as you can see from the screenshot. Needless to say, it’s a game we highly recommend you check out. No free version is available, but Finding Teddy is a steal at only $2.32.finding.teddy

6. Heavy Sword

Like platform games? If so, there’s a new one out called HEAVY sword you may want to look into. It’s a Mario-esque platformer that lets you smash your way through enemies as you attempt to rescue the beautiful Princess Lucinda. There’s also a huge sword, steam powered armor, and daggers. Good stuff. We’ll take a closer look at HEAVY Sword next week, until then we highly advise you to check it out. Monster Robot Studios HEAVY Sword is available to download for $1.99.heavy.sword

7. GelaTennis

GelaTennis is one of those games that’s hard to describe, but a blast to play. You simply need to keep the balls going for as long as possibly, and as you’d expect, it won’t be easy. It’s great for some quick fun, and it’s free to download on Google Play.gelatennis

8. Karateka Classic

If you truly want to go retro, Karateka Classic is about as retro as you can get. This side-scrolling fighter has you punch and kick your way through Akuma’s forces as you try to rescue Princess Mariko. It’s not going to be a game for everyone, but if you played the original you’ll definitely want to pick it up. You can pick up Karateka Classic for $0.99 on Google Play.karaketa.classic
