Duck Hunt was one of the first video games a lot of us played, and games have definitely come a long way since then. Sometimes it’s fun to revisit the past, and Duck Retro Hunt from InfinityK gives us a blast from the past by putting a cool modern twist on an old 8-bit classic. Duck Retro Hunt is a modern take on the retro NES game Duck Hunt game we all know and love. The gameplay is basically the same, but the graphics have been updated and there are a few other neat twists to boot. The most interesting feature is AR Mode which puts an augmented reality spin on the game. You will have to print a marker or use a dollar bill, but it’s pretty cool once you get it working. You can also use touch controls or your phones gyroscope to play against a modern, yet retro background. I would recommend going with the gyroscope as the other setup can be a bit tricky to pull off. I was a big fan of Duck Hunt back in the day, and it’s great to be able to do a bit of duck hunting on the go. The AR mode is a nice twist, and while the graphics have been changed up the game manages to stay true to the original while keeping things fresh. Duck Retro Hunt is free to download, but ad-supported. If you like what you see you can snag the Pro version for $1.14.
