Facebook has just started rolling out version 2.0 of its Android app promising a faster and better native Android app. This means that Facebook has already ditched the HTML5 version of the app in favor of a more robust native Android app similar to the iOS version of the Facebook mobile app. According to Facebook, they have rebuild the app from the ground up, focusing on speed and not too much on the app’s look and feel.
In fact, you will hardly notice any change from the app’s appearance at all. What is more noticeable with the app is that it now loads pages faster than before. So this also means that the app launches quicker than before, For those who browse photos on Facebook often, you will immediately notice that photo opens right away with a simple tap. And you will also be able to scroll through photo albums without leaving the news feed view. Finally, the app also makes opening the Facebook timeline on your Android devices faster as well. The Facebook Android app is available now as a free download from the Google Play store.
