Fishing Cactus is bringing the Norns to Android next year in Creatures 4
If you were gaming in the 90s chances are you’ve heard of Creatures the artificial life game from Steve Grand and Millennium Interactive. If you we’re into the Creatures craze you’re in for a bit of good news as it looks like we’re going to revisit the Noms next year in Fishing Cactus’s Creatures 4 for Android. The original Creatures series involved a little group of aliens called the Norns. Your job was to teach the Norns to survive by teaching them to defend themselves, but you also got to breed them which is where the fun comes in as the game is essentially a life simulator of sorts. The game was programmed to where the Norns and their DNA could evolve in interesting ways depending on how you breed them, and their offspring would even pass traits on to future generations. Needless to say it was a lot of fun back in the day, and it was out long before Spore which is another great creature creating game. While we don’t’ know a lot about Creatures 4 yet we do know a few things. The game will be entirely in 3D this time around and there will be 5 worlds to explore along with an IAP setup that allows you to buy toys and food for your Norns among other things. We don’t have a firm release date yet, but we’ve been told Creatures 4 will be out sometime between early Q1 and Q2 of 2013. We’ll keep you informed as details emerge, until then you can check out the funky Gangnam Style trailer for Creatures 4 below.
