It was just last week when we saw the arrival of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play Edition smartphones, and it did not take too long at all before the community decided to flex their programming muscles and put the proverbial thinking caps on to figure out a way to port the Google Play Edition software over to existing handsets, and these efforts were met with certain degrees of success.
Most of the focus on the homebrew front seemed to concentrate more on the Samsung Galaxy S4, where one custom ROM actually played out quite well on the international Galaxy S4 model – you know, the LTE-enabled one with a Snapdragon chipset. Hence, it is interesting to note that the Verizon and Sprint versions of the Galaxy S4 are now on the receiving end of a Google Play Edition custom ROM.
