House.of.the.dead-overkillWe’ve seen a lot of great releases this week, and House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels is another game to add to the list. It’s the second release from Sega this week, and it’s a mobile take on a popular shooter full of zombies and F-bombs.house of the dead overkill: the lost reels android House of the Dead Overkill was a Wii game released way back in 2009, and although it was on a “kiddie” console, it was definitely not a game for the kids. The same carnage and cursing has made its way to Android devices in House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels, and I’m happy to say it’s still not a game for  kids. While it’s not a full-fledged sequel to the original game, it is a continuation of sorts courtesy of some “lost reels” from the first adventure. You’ll control Detective Washington and Agent G as they blast their way through several Grindhouse movies including Papa’s Palace of Pain and Ballistic Trauma. There’s a third film called Naked Terror, but you’ll have to pay for that one via the IAP system. There are lots of upgradable zombie killing weapons as well including shotguns, hand cannons, and assault rifles. The game also has a brutal survival mode that puts your skills to the test against endless waves of deadly zombies.house.of.the.dead.overkill-lost.reels-2 I haven’t gotten to spend much time with House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels, but so far it’s been a bloody blast. Headshots are easy to get, and it’s definitely a solid shooter with an gruesome Grindhouse feel. If you dig zombies shooters or enjoyed the original game you’ll definitely want to check it out. If you want to give it a go, you can pick up Sega’s House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels for $4.99 on Google Play.
