Google Play Store now selling the Galaxy Nexus unlocked for $399

by On April 24, 2012

It’s been awhile since Google sold phones themselves, but it’s happening again as they are now selling unlocked HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus phones through the Google Play store. You can pick up this unlocked Google phone for only $399 if you live in the US, but plans are to expand to other markets in the near future. If you’re not familiar with the Galaxy Nexus, you either live under a rock or you’ve been following Samsung Galaxy S3 and Asus pad 300 news like the rest of the world. Well, if you’re unfamiliar with the Galaxy Nexus here’s what you’ll get.  The Galaxy Nexus sports a 4.65” HD Super AMOLED screen of curved glass with a 1280 x 720 resolution. You get a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 16 GB of Internal Storage, and 1GB of RAM. The Galaxy Nexus’s dual shooters come with a 5 MP camera on the back, and a 1.3 MP camera on the front. You also get an LED Flash, HD recording at 1080p, and it has zero shutter lag. There are all kinds of other cool features (NFC) that the phone has, and if you’re in the running for a new phone the unlocked version of the Galaxy Nexus would definitely be one to consider. Oh yeah, it also runs ICS or Android 4.0 as it’s commonly referred to. I’ve said on many occasions that I’m going for the Samsung Galaxy S3, but the fact that Google is selling phones again is pretty darned cool. I think a lot of people will be tempted to pick up this unlocked beauty, and when they expand to sell to other countries it should do very well. We are also assuming you’ll be able to get the long awaited Galaxy Tab from Google Play as well once it’s released. If you’re in the market for a real “Google Experience” on a device and you want quick updates the Galaxy Nexus may just be for you. Hit the link below to see the phone and the new phone section on Google Play for yourselves and stay tuned for more news as it’s gearing up to be a long (busy) summer if ya’ dig Android.
