Google Updates its Weather Search Page for Android Devices

by On January 25, 2011

Google has just made their mobile search result page for weather search more interesting and interactive by introducing a new snippet that actually displays weather-related information other than a bunch of weather-related links. In other words, the new weather search results page will not act as if you’re using an actual Android app. To try this new feature, first you have to visit google.com on your Android phone’s mobile web browser. Then search for “weather” and wait for Google to display the actual weather condition specific to the area where you are currently located. At first, you’ll see information such as current weather conditions as well as weather forecast for the next few days. Now, try moving the slider to the next 12 hours and a detailed hour-by-hour breakdown of the weather conditions will be displayed. Additionally, the background color of the page changes throughout the day and depending on the actual weather conditions the moment you are browsing the search results page. Pretty cool, right? So what happens to the usual weather search results? Well, you can still view them by simply scrolling down the page. Google also said that this new weather search feature is currently available in English only but other languages will follow soon. via Google Mobile Blog
