Huawei Announces The Ascend P1 S As World's Thinnest Smartphone, Runs Android 4.0
Recently debuted at CES are two smartphones by Huawei, one having the distinction of being the world’s thinnest smartphone and the other having the distinction of being related to that smartphone. Basically, the Huawei Ascend P1 S 0.26 inches thick and that beats out the DROID RAZR which comes in at 0.27. Minor technicalities aside, the Ascend P1 S is a pretty solid smartphone, and may be able to compete with the big guns depending on when it is launched. First off, it features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0, 8MP rear facing camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of onboard memory. Now, the Ascend P1 is very similar, but it is a bit thicker due to a larger battery. Both of these devices will launch in Q2 of 2012 in markets such as Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, Australia, Middle East and China. No word on pricing at this time.
