Engadget received a picture of the packaging facility that is handling the preparation of the Motorola Droid 2. We still haven’t heard official confirmation from Verizon about the Motorola Droid 2, but every day there seems to be a new leak. Just yesterday, the official image of the Motorola Droid 2 was discovered through source code. Today, we learn the Droid 2 is being mass produced in some facility and each device will ship with a 8GB microSD card on board. In terms of pricing, the Motorola Droid 2 should cost $199 with a two year contract and $599 without a contract. It’s still a little early for Verizon to announce the phone because the Motorola Droid X launched only four days ago, but I’m sure we will hear official confirmation within a week or two. The latest rumor regarding the Droid 2’s availability pins a launch date on August 23. Since the Motorola Droid 2 is being produced as we speak, it seems that launch date rumor could hold up. Should any more news about the Motorola Droid 2 break, we will stay on top of it.
