According to a screen shot from a device running Android 2.3, an option to sync music from your Google Account is available. If you take a look at the image above, you will see the option below “Sync Contacts” and “Sync Gmail.” Google has been rumored for a while now to launch a Music service that essentially streams music from your home computer to your Android smartphone. Granted it is already possible to put music on your phone and play it like that, but wouldn’t an ability to always stream your music library be more efficient? Every time you expand your library, you wouldn’t have to worry about physically transferring the new music over. Not to mention it would save valuable hard drive space for other forms of content (i.e. apps and videos). GizmoFusion is the blog who received the tipped screen shot and they seem to think the Sync Music option will be available on Android 2.2 and even 2.1. Only time will tell if Google decides to implement this new service.
