Jellybean starts rolling out for the Verizon Galaxy S3
Owners of Verizon’s Galaxy SIII finally have a reason to rejoice today as they’ve officially started rolling out Jellybean for the Verizon Galaxy S3. Verizon has been late to the Jellybean party much to the dismay of millions of Galaxy s3 owners. Well today most of you can breathe a sigh of relief as the rollout of Jellybean has begun. Get ready for a faster UI, Google Now, better widgets, ISIS support, and a slew of other enhancements. Needless to say it’s a big upgrade from ICS. Excited yet? Some folks are getting the update notification, but if you haven’t received one you can check for the update manually through the settings/about phone tab. I didn’t get the notification, but checked this morning and have been running it ever since. It was around a 400 meg download, but the total upgrade time from the download to install was only around 10-12 minutes which may vary depending on your connection. We heard it was coming and it looks like Verizon stayed true to their word. I bought the S3 about a week after its release and have been waiting like the rest of you for Jellybean to come my way. I’ve had it on my tablet since JB was released, and I am beyond thrilled to finally have an official version on my S3. It may have taken them ages to get Jellybean out, but it’s an update that’s well worth the wait.
