Based on images received by Engadget, it looks like the T-Mobile G2 is simply the European HTC Vision — a 3.7 inch touch screen device with a slider QWERTY keyboard. T-Mobile hasn’t officially confirmed any specs for the recently announced G2, but the images sent in from a tipster look pretty legitimate. Hopefully the device ships with Android 2.2, but the hardware otherwise is nothing worth getting excited about. The latest rumors, courtesy of TmoNews, are claiming T-Mobile will launch the G2 on September 29, with a pre-order possibly beginning September 9. The interesting thing about T-Mobile’s expected pre-order for the G2 is that only current T-Mobile customers will be able to pre-order the device. I guess it’s sort of a gift for T-Mobile customers who continue to ink contracts and purchase phones. I’m sure we will learn more information about the G2 through rumors and official announcements in the coming weeks.
