In a recent post on their official Facebook account, LG announced when numerous Android smartphones will be receiving the coveted Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. Unfortunately, the Facebook post makes little to no mention of American LG smartphones, but instead focuses on European and global models. Hopefully, LG will issue a separate post for American smartphones, or at least roll out ICS at the same time as the European counterparts. In any event, let’s take a closer look at which devices are scheduled to receive the update and when. During Q2 of 2012, we can expect the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse to each be upgraded to Android 4.0. In Q3 of 2012, the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX will each be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich. LG reminds us that there isn’t a date set in stone to begin the roll out for each Android 2.3 device since carriers in different countries have different requirements in terms of major OS roll outs, but LG promises us this will happen in the near future.
