Somewhere in South Korea, LG just made a splash in the mobile news scene by announcing that it plans to release not just one but 10 new Android-powered smartphones. LG has launched its new Optimus series of smartphones. In addition, LG will also launch a new Android-powered tablets which could possibly go up against the Apple iPad. Let’s see now, to kick off its Optimum series of smartphones, LG will be initially releasing the LG Optimus One and LG Optimus Chic, both phones running on the latest Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The LG Optimus One will be released in cooperation with Google and thus would offer most of Google mobile features and services. It will also connect easily to Google’s Android Market. This Android phone would also feature a nice user interface as well as deliver several multimedia options. Specs-wise, this phone will feature OMAP3630 processor, 3.8-inch display HD camera, HDMI/DNLA support, and of course will run Android 2.2. The other new LG Android phone is called the LG Optimus Chic. This phone is geared for the fashion conscious mobile phone users featuring stylish design in its form factor. Aside from these two LG Optimus Android phones, LG is also releasing a new Android tablet later this year. Details of this LG tablet are still unknown at this time. via LG Korea
