Little Luca is a new physics-based puzzle game from Glowingpine Studios. It’s the tale of Luca, a boy who’s trying to collect stars to bring back the night sky, and it’s one of the coolest puzzlers we’ve played in quite some time. Each level presents you with a ball in a bubble, and when you tap the screen the bubble bursts and the ball drops onto the playing field. Your job is to get the ball into the portal on each level while collecting any stars you see, and you’ll do this by “flexing” the environment around you. When you tap the screen certain parts of the environment will expand or contract to catch or launch your ball. The gameplay is similar to Elastic World, but with a cool retro vibe. Things start out simple in the world of Little Luca, but it doesn’t take long for the difficulty to ramp up. By the numbers, Little Luca offers up 90 levels spanning several different areas with more listed as coming soon. I’m always a little skeptical when everyone raves about a new Android game, but you can believe the hype behind Little Luca. There pixelated graphics are easy on the eyes, and there are more levels than you can shake a stick at. The soundtrack… well, it’s just something you need to hear for yourself. It’s very impressive and fits the game perfectly. If you’d like to give it a go you can pick up Glowingpine Studios Little Luca for $0.99 on Google Play.
