SCVNGR, a location-based social game which came out several months ago has just been updated to version 3.5. Actually, it’s kind of confusing at first what this Android app/game is all about. But once you explore and start using it, you’d soon realize that it’s a pretty straight forward location-based app. One way of describing it is simply to imagine – Foursquare in steroids. New in the latest version of SCVNGR for Android include a new dashboard layout that makes it easier and faster to use the Android app. The app also introduced a commenting and +1-ing check-ins and other items or information shared by your friends via SCVNGR. It’s like the “like” and “comment” feature of Facebook that everybody seems to be using everyday. Using SCVNGR also earns you various real-life rewards whenever you check-in to various places. Another new and very cool feature is the social map. You can use this to put your friends on it and the activity stream 2.0 which now surface the most interesting content shared by SCVNGR users. SCVNGR for Android is available now as a free download from the Android Marketplace. So if you enjoy using Foursquare, this app is even more rewarding. If I were you, I’d get it installed on my Android phone as soon as you can.
