Motorola Droid 2 Appears In Verizon Summer Catalog

by On July 14, 2010

Well Verizon’s summer catalog was recently leaked online by BGR and it shows the normal hot Verizon devices you would expect. However, it does feature the unannounced Motorola Droid 2 complete with its specs. Unfortunately, we still do not have a price or availability date for the Droid 2, but it looks like latest rumor regarding the Motorola Droid 2 may pan out. Basically that rumor stated the Motorola Droid 2 would launch August 23 with Android 2.2 onboard. Since the Motorola Droid 2 is featured in a Summer Catalog, a launch date of August 23 does make sense. One of the core features of the Droid 2 is the obvious slideout QWERTY keyboard that is supposedly designed for better messaging. In addition, it features 8GB onboard memory, memory expansion via microSD, 5MP camera, 3G Mobile Hotspot, and a 1GHz processor. For some odd reason, the catalog does not list the screen size which I believe is an important factor of any smartphone. If I had to guess, I think the Droid 2′s screen would be 3.7 inches or 4 inches. The catalog does show off some featurephones such as the Samsung Gusto, Verizon Wireless Salute, the Samsung Intensity 2, and the Pantech Jest. One notable phone that isn’t found in the Summer Catalog is the Samsung Fascinate. You would think Samsung’s high-end smartphone would at least be featured somewhere in the catalog. Then again, I’m sure the Summer Catalog is still in draft phase, so perhaps Verizon will add in the Fascinate in due time.
