Only about a week ago, Google announced it received its last shipment of the Google Nexus One smartphone, meaning it would only be a matter of time before Google would close its online doors to sale forever. Today, Google officially announced the end of the Nexus One on its store website. The Nexus One was, by no means, a complete success in the eyes of the consumer, however, for Google, the N1 served its purpose. The stock Android phone helped jumpstart an industry of smartphones with better and superior hardware. Google announced it would not create a successor to the Nexus One, but I would not be surprised if Google re-entered the smartphone market further down the road. As of now, only registered developers can purchase the Nexus One through Google and it is still on sale in Europe though Vodafone and Korea through KT.
