OnLive Desktop App Now Available for Android Tablets

by On March 2, 2012

For quite some time now, iPad users have been enjoying Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and other Microsoft apps on their iPads courtesy of the iPad app OnLive Desktop. Now, OnLive Desktop is making the same app available on the Android Market – supporting several Android tablets. These tablets are the Acer Iconia Tab A500, ASUS Eee TF101, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 and HTC Jetstream. The app supports other Android tablets running at least Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. For those who are unaware, OnLive Desktop is a service that gives a seamless, no-compromise, instant-response cloud-based PC desktop. For the OnLive Desktop Android app, you’ll be able to instantly view, edit and create documents using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The app also lets you easily transfer files between OnLive Desktop and other devices. Other features of the OnLive Desktop Android app that you’ll appreciate include – instant-response PC apps, lag-free animation and video, and Bluetooth keyboard and mice support. I’ve been using OnLive Desktop for iPad for quite sometime now and I would have to say that it’s a pretty good app. You just have to make sure that you have a fast broadband connection since the app works with the OnLive Desktop cloud server so, good Internet connection is really a must. OnLive Desktop Android app is available now as a free download from the Android Market.
