Pitfall the father of endless running game comes available for Android

by On December 21, 2012

Before Temple Run and other endless running games, there was Pitfall Harry which was quite a phenomenon in the Atari 2600 sometime in the 1980s. Well, guess what, said game has just been made available on Google Play and ready to be played on your Android devices. Rebuilt from the ground up to better suit today’s mobile gaming standards, Pitfall the Android game stars Pitfall Harry in the same side-scrolling game. Pitfall Android game features a pretty simple gameplay. And it’s nothing like you’ve never played this kind of game before. It’s like Temple Run. Or should I say Temple Run plays like Pitfall? As an endless running game, you’ll be running of course, jumping over obstacles, sliding obstacles, turning left and right, and collecting silver treasures. As an additional feature, you’ll be able to use whip enemies as well. There will also be checkpoints to reach which will task you to run as fast as you can. The game control is all touch gesture-based. So if you’ve played Temple Run, you pretty much can handle the controls of this game. In the graphics department, well it looks great on my Samsung Galaxy S3. And it plays well too. No lag time observed whatsoever. The game’s features include the following:

  • The “Free Runner” evolved! Navigate through constantly changing environments as you make your way through narrow trenches, dark caverns, and cascading waterfalls with cinematic camera angles.
  • Level up and trade in your loot for a trove of game changing powerups that can be used to enhance your experience and customize your wardrobe
  • Top your friends’ scores on Twitter and Facebook and stake your claim as the real king of the jungle!
  • Easy swipe and tilt controls allow you to jump right in!

To sum it up, Pitfall Harry is a great time waster that could very well replaced Temple Run on your Android devices. It’s a available now as a free download so there’s really nothing to lose if you will give it a shot.
