The second Samsung Galaxy S smartphone variant has officially launched in America. The Samsung Vibrant launched only three days ago on T-Mobile, and today, the Samsung Captivate launches on AT&T. The two devices are similarly spec’d and priced, the only difference is carrier preference. Some prefer AT&T to T-Mobile and vice versa. With that being said, let’s quickly recap the specs and pricing on the Samsung Captivate. It boasts a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird Processor, 5MP camera, pre-loaded with Swype, Android 2.1, 16GB onboard memory, and has a 1500 hi capacity mAhr battery. On the conventional two year contract, the Samsung Captivate will set you back $199. Without a contract, the device costs $499. In case you’re looking for a better deal, the Samsung Captivate costs $149.99 on Wirefly. With two Samsung Galaxy S smartphone variants shipping, we can only hope the last two (Epic 4G on Sprint and Fascinate on Verizon) ship soon, too.
