Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Confirmed to Use the Snapdragon 400 SoC

by On June 3, 2013

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Samsung officially released the information about the system on chip which will be used in the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, namely Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400. The announcement was brief, Samsung only gave details about the frequency of the processor, it will run at 1.7 GHz and will be a dual core version, the rest of the specs sheet is yet to be released. The official information about the processor used on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is kind of redundant, since it was first leaked on the internet almost one week ago, on a German website, which provided screenshots of the Antutu benchmark, starring the S4 Mini. The leak even detailed about the graphic processing unit, an Adreno 305 variant, the amount of RAM, i.e. 1.5 GB and the 8 megapixels shooter. It appears that Samsung decided to clear things out once and for all and stop the rumor mill, revealing a bit of tech specs in the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. According to Samsung’s statement, theĀ  Galaxy S4 Mini will come in two flavors, one of them will use the MSM8930AP Snapdragon 400, which is LTE compatible, the other low end version will feature the MSM8230AP Pro chip, which allows only 3G connectivity. Both variants will use the Adreno 305 GPU for intensive graphic applications. The new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will have a 4.3 inches wide qHD display with a resolution of 960×540 pixels, 8 GB of internal memory, 1.5 GB of RAM (as previously leaked, thumbs up for “zee Germans”!), will run on Android 4.2.2 augmented with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI. Word is that some versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will feature NFC support and also dual SIM operation. The power plant will be a 1900 mAh Li-Io battery. Source: Carribean Media Vision
