The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has been the subject of rumors the past couple of days. Today, Samsung has putĀ  an end to all these by officially announcing the Galaxy S4 Mini. And just like what we have all been speculating before, this Android smartphone is a toned-down version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. As such, the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a more compact 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display and weighs lighter at 107 grams, making the device easier to use even with a single hand. Despite its compact size, the Galaxy S4 Mini is pretty powerful as well, ably equipped with a .7GHz dual-core processor. The handset is packed with a 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB internal memory. But don’t expect this much memory though since we’ve learned that only 5G is available for your perusal. Still, you’ll find the handset’s microSD slot useful for additional storage of up to 64GB. The Samsung Galaxy S4 also comes with a 1900 mAh battery. Comparing this with the Galaxy S4 which has 2600 mAh battery and you’ll know that the Galaxy S4 will give you more usage time. Still, don’t discount the fact that the Galaxy S4 Mini has smaller display and less powerful processor. This means that it may not consumer to much battery juice when the phone is in use. Other features worth noting is the 8MP rear-facing camera, 1.9MP front-facing camera which are equipped with some nifty features including Panorama shot and Sound&Shot. Sound&Shot lets you store both background and voice noise when you’re capturing still images. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be available in in White Frost and Black Mist. The same original color models of the Samsung Galaxy S4. It will support 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+ and 3G Dual SIM depending on the market. Watch out for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini’s appearance at the Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy & ATIV event in London on June 20, 2013. via [Samsung]
