Samsung News: WiFi Only Galaxy Tab Slated For Q1 American Launch, CBS Adds Programming To Media Hub

by On January 5, 2011

Just several days ago, Verizon Wireless lowered its Galaxy Tab price from $599 to $499 off contract. If a 3G data plan isn’t necessary for you, and you are looking to purchase a Galaxy Tab for just WiFi use without any contract plans, you’ll be pleased to know Samsung has announced a WiFi only version for the United States expected to launch in Q1. Pricing has yet to be disclosed by Samsung, but hopefully the giant electronics company offers it for a low, competitive price, because CES 2011 is about to reveal many powerful tablets, and Samsung needs a cheap Galaxy Tab to remain popular among Android enthusiasts. The tech specs of the WiFi only Galaxy Tab are nearly identical to the 3G Galaxy Tab model, except for the obvious missing 3G radio. In a bit of other related Samsung news, CBS will add its unique programming to Samsung’s Media Hub. Samsung’s Media Hub is home to rich content in terms of TV shows and movies available on its Galaxy S lineup of smartphones and the aforementioned Galaxy Tab. In terms of TV shows, users can expect “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “NCIS,” “The Good Wife” and “Survivor.” For more details regarding the WiFi only Samsung Galaxy tab, feel free to read the press release.
