At Mobile World Congress 2012, Samsung introduced to the public an interesting device featuring mid-range hardware, but it contains a built-in projector. The projector is capable of displaying images and videos at 15 lumens. The projector is clearly the main feature of the GALAXY Beam as it allows the owner to transform any party or gathering into a viewing show by using the phone’s projector up to three hours on a single charge. In terms of other specs, it features a 4.0 inch touch screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3, 8GB of onboard memory, and a whopping 2,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing or availability at this time, but it will be interesting to see which markets the GALAXY Beam will launch in and at what price. The projector aspect is definitely an interesting feature, but I’m not sure how practical it will be for the average consumer at this point in time.
