Sony must be having a good time as the Sony Xperia Z is selling quite well. The launch is off to a great start in the regions where the smartphone is available. But if you are not into the whole 5 inch smartphone game, the Sony C670X may be able to interest you. While the Sony Xperia Z and ZL are far from selling millions of units, they are not even available globally yet, it will be stupid to assume they will remain Sony’s top flagships for the rest of the year too. Any smart company ships a phone and moves to the next one, so don’t be sad if you have already bought the Xperia Z or ZL, this is a natural process. The Sony C670X is in fact rather similar to the aforementioned flagship smartphone, the codename is also really close too (Xperia Z is Sony C660X). Xperia Blog states that the Sony C670X is already in the works over at Sony and will be supporting a 4.8 inch screen. Full HD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution will be able to deliver a higher pixel per inch screen, resulting in much sharper images thanks to the smaller size. The Sony C670X is also supposed to have a 1.8 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB on internal storage memory. The smartphone will also have the fairly standard 13 MP camera and will come running Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box. While the image provided by the source seems to be a generic promotional picture, that may turn out to be the actual device render. Sony C670X is going to be released in the middle of this year, so don’t expect any official announcements from Sony any time soon. A 4.8 inch smartphone may entice many potential customers who want a little compact smartphone. Source: Xperiablog
