One of the highly anticipated smartphones to be announced at the MWC 2011 is the well known Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Founded upon gaming ideals, the Xperia Play boasts a slider gaming keypad and features Sony’s Playstation Suite gaming app. Even though its primary function and feature to claim is its physical gaming keypad, the Xperia Play launches with high-end specs to make it a very capable phone. It features a 4 inch touch screen display with 480 x 854 resolution, Android 2.3, 5MP rear facing camera, a front facing camera, 512MB of RAM, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and microSD memory expansion. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is expected to launch sometime in March exclusively for Verizon Wireless. With the iPhone 4, Motorola DROID BIONIC, HTC Thunderbolt, and now the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Verizon has a very capable lineup of smartphones.
