Sony Xperia Z Ultra Now Official, Powered by Snapdragon 800

Sony Xperia Z Ultra A new Android running beast was released in the wild, I am talking about the Sony Xperia Z Ultra,  THE phablet, now official. Also known as Togari, when it was in development, it sports a huge 6.4 inches wide touch screen and runs on the latest and the greatest Qualcomm system on chip, the Snapdragon 800, the best ARM chip in the industry today. The screen is all the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is about, in my opinion, an Ultra Triluminous display with 1080p resolution and an excellent 334 ppi pixel density. The display it Sony’s swan song, using their latest technologies, like the OptiContrast and X-Reality feature. X-Reality is basically the next generation of Sony’s praised Bravia engine. Sony’s marketing claims that the 6.4 inches wide touchscreen offers 60% more surface for playing than your regular 5 inches wide smartphone, which looks like a dwarf when compared to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The touch screen can be operated manually, with a normal pen or pencil and/or with a capacitive stylus. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 system on chip comes with the Adreno 330 GPU, in order to make things run smoothly on that huge display. The CPU itself consists of a quad core Krait 400  running at 2.2 GHz. All these specs make the Sony Xperia Z Ultra to be the first device officially released running on the Snapdragon 800 and presumably the king of the hill when it comes to performance. Sony Xperia Z Ultra runs on Android 4.2.2 flavored with Sony’s own interface. It comes with an 8 Megapixels Exmor-RS camera, capable of recording full HD 1080p videos and also supports HDR (hard disk recorder). Xperia Z Ultra has a pretty cool design, it’s very slim at just 6.5 mm and its body uses tempered glass for the back panel, reinforced with a metal frame on the sides. It also comes with IP58 certification, just like the Sony Xperia ZR, meaning that it can hold its breath under water for a long time, just like those guys on submarines. Sony Xperia Z Ultra Sony Xperia Z Ultra offers  top of the line connectivity, as it features 4G LTE, HD voice and even NFC. When you’re listening to music on the go, you will be delighted to see the WALKMAN player among the apps, with ClearAudio+ and xLOUD sound enhancement system. Sony claims that the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is the slimmest 1080p smart phone on the market, but it’s not the lightest, weighing 212 grams, which is pretty OK’ish for that huge screen and 3000mAh battery. The Xperia Z Ultra is expected to see action in Q3 of 2013 and it will be available in three colors : white, black and, thank God, purple! Source : Sony
