Sony Xperia ZU Appears on Antutu Benchmark, Powered by Snapdragon 800

Sony Xperia ZU The appearance of a Sony Xperia ZU phablet was rumored by the Taiwanese from ePrice  for some time now, they even leaked a list of tech specs and  the official date of its release. According to their claims, the Sony Xperia ZU will come with the latest system on chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 800, running at a blazing 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The memory is expandable with micro SD cards of up to 64 GB. The XPeria ZU  will feature 2 cameras, one with a 8 Megapixels sensor and a 1.3 Megapixels secondary, also a huge 3000 mAh battery. If you’re not tech savvy, the Snapdragon 800 system on chip is the top of the line CPU from Qualcomm, it was not released yet and it is set to replace their current flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 600. The Xperia ZU touch screen is a huge 6.4 inches wide X-Reality display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a cool pixel density of 342 ppi (pixels per inch). Well, these were the specs initially released by ePrice.  Since then, 2 benchmarks appeared on Antutu of 2 smart phones featuring the Snapdragon 800 platform : a Pantech and a Samsung Galaxy S4,  both were significantly faster than Samsung’s Exynos Octa system on chip, and that’s remarkable. Now, a benchmark of a Sony Xperia ZU powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 created shock and awe, since it achieved a very nice score on Antutu : 32173 points. Sony Xperia ZU Compared with the Exynos Octa in the S4, which scored 27417 points, this looks like a great step forward, don’t you think? The Pantech smartphone running on the same Snapdragon 800 managed to score 30133. So, it is very clear that the Snapdragon 800 will set the standard in the industry in the future. For the sake of argument, the Samsung Galaxy S4 powered by the current generation of Qualcomm’s SoC, the Snapdragon 600, scored 25900 points in the Antutu benchmark. The progress is obvious, I can’t wait to see the new Sony Xperia ZU in action. The official release date is June 25’th, next Tuesday. Source : eSato
