If you’re in the market for a new space shooter today’s you’re lucky day. Studio Evil’s Syder Arcade HD hit Google Play yesterday and it’s one of the most action packed space shooters we’ve played in quite some time. Syder Arcade is an intense space-based shooter that puts your skills to the test taking on hordes of alien invaders. The controls are standard as you’ve got an on-screen pad to control your ship and it’s setup to autofire. What’s not standard is the use of “flip” controls as you can move in any direction you like, but have to use the flip button to change the direction you’re shooting in. Needless to say you’ll be using that button quite often. By the numbers Syder Arcade HD offers up a 6 level campaign mode, survival mode, 4 difficulty levels, and 3 different starships. Dying is also listed as one of the game’s features, but you’ll figure that one out on your own rather quickly. While I’ve only briefly played Syder Arcade HD I was immediately impressed by the gameplay and backdrop. The game screams retro, and there’s a good chance you’ll end up screaming at the screen when the enemies start coming at you in droves. The developers have noted that a dual-core cpu is required to run the game. I haven’t tried the game on an older device, but it runs like a scalded dog on my Galaxy s3. No free version is available at this time, but you can pick up the full version of Syder Arcade HD for only $0.99.
