T-Mobile To Offer Free Phones on June 19

by On June 16, 2010

In order to attract new customers and keep current ones, T-Mobile has decided to launch a big promotion – giving away free phones with new contracts. The new promotion is set to begin at 8 AM, June 19. Basically, new and current customers need to sign up for a new 2 year family plan contract. A family plan is any T-Mobile plan that includes at least two lines. If you have a big family that you would like to renew the contract and upgrade to all new phones, it is important to remember that T-Mobile will only offer five phones per family contract. Some may be skeptical of T-Mobile’s offer and wonder whether they will offer the big name phones for free. Well, T-Mobile has specifically stated that even high end phones such as the myTouch 3G Slide, the new Garminfone, the HTC HD2, the BlackBerry Bold 9700, and the rest of their lineup of good phones. While every phone is available for free on the 19th, some phones will require a mail-in-rebate, but T-Mobile did not announce which phones would require the MIR. T-Mobile has high hopes for this promotion, and summer is typically the season for big phone launches including the iPhone, so it will be important for T-Mobile to make a strong statement. It will be interesting to see how T-Mobile does in phone/contract sales on the 19th.
