The Best New Android Apps of the Week – May 26, 2013

by On week’s list of the Best New Android Apps of the week offers up apps that let you video chat, browse the web, and search for solid WiFi signals. There’s a little something for everyone and we hope you enjoy our picks for the best of the bunch from the past week…

1. Zoner Photo Studio

If you’re looking for a new photo app, Zoner Photo Studio is a great way to go. It gives you all the tools you need to take, edit, and organize your photos, and the slick interface makes the app extremely easy to use. We’ll have more on Zoner Photo Studio later in the week, until then we highly advise you to check it out for yourself. Zoner Photo Studio is free to download on Google Play.

2. Music Equalizermusic.equilizer

Smartphone speakers have always been a bit underwhelming, and while you can crank up the volume that’s about it unless you have an EQ. PefectionHolic Apps Music Equalizer gives you some control over that with a five band equalizer, 9 presets, and bass boost. It works like a charm, and it’s free to download on Google Play.

3. Todo Pro (Beta)

Personal assistants are expensive, and not an option for most of us. Todo Pro gives you a PA on your phone, and helps you tackle any task you come across. You can share lists, make assignments, and sync all your tasks across every device you use. It’s currently in Beta, but it works great and is well worth checking out. Todo Pro is available to download for free on Google Play.

4. IRON Atom theme

There are a lot of launchers out there, and more themes than you can shake a stick at. The IRON Atom theme is a new one for the Atom Launcher, and as you can see, it’s an awesome looking theme with a strong techie vibe. The theme is free to download, and so is the Atom Launcher if you haven’t checked it out yet.atom

5. Opera Mobile Classicopera

The Opera Browser has been around for ages, and it’s one of the most popular mobile browsers around. Opera Mobile Classic is the latest iteration of the browser, and it’s an ideal way to surf the web from your favorite Android smart phone or tablet. Opera Mobile Classic is free to download.

6. Glide – Video Walkie Talkie (BETA)glide

If you’re tired of talking and don’t want to text, you can always Glide. Glide is a new Android app that works like a walkie talkie as you can chat with one friend or all of them at once with the touch of a button and the magic of video. Its video messaging made simple, and it’s free to download if you want to check it out.

7. Free Wifi


If you live in a crowded area, dealing with Wifi networks can be a hassle, especially when you have to scroll through pages of connections. Free Wifi can speed things up by giving you detailed information on the networks around you, and you can even assign descriptions to individual networks. There are a lot of handy features in Free Wifi, but some of them are only available in the premium package. Free Wifi is free to download, if you like what you see the premium version will only set you back $1.75.

8. Feathrfeathr

Feathr helps you stay connected to new people you meet. You can connect, follow, email, and save them to your contacts; the app also reminds you to follow-up with people when you haven’t. Feathr is free to download on Google Play.
