The Best New Android Games of the Week – April 15, 2013
1. Scribblenauts Remix
Word games are a dime a dozen, but there’s nothing out there quite like Scribblenauts Remix. If you can spell it, you can basically create it as long as you stick to nouns and adjectives. You’ll create objects to solve puzzles, and the freeplay mode will keep you busy for ages. Scirbblenauts Remix is only available via the Amazon App Store at the moment, and it’s well worth the $0.99 price tag.
Team 17 Digital unleashed the Worms on gamers last week, and if turn-based strategy is your thing you’ll want to pick it up. It’s the same game you know and love, and you’ll get 30 missions spanning 5 new themes to go along with Body Count Mode, and Wi-Fi multiplayer. Team 17 knocked it out of the park with Worms 2: Armageddon and you can pick it up for $4.99 on Google Play.
3. Relic Rush
Relic Rush is a retro one-touch game that puts your reflexes to the test as you run through stages collecting idols. Your character is on autopilot and you’ll have to stop and restart him to avoid danger in over 100 different stages. You can pick up Crescent Moon Games Relic Rush for $0.99 on Google Play.
10Tons has put out some great games, and Clowns in the Face is the latest time waster from the group. It’s also a game you’ll definitely want if you despise clowns. You basically try to smash tennis balls into the face of clowns which is just as fun as it sounds. It’s a game with a lot of humor and it’s ad-supported, but free to download.
This one’s kind of hard to explain, but it’s pretty damned cool nonetheless. It’s a game about moments, time, and consequences. It’s just as trippy as it sounds (and looks), and it’s one of the more interesting games we’ve come across in recent memory. It’s not going to be for everyone, but it’s well worth a buck if you’re looking for something different. You can pick up good luck, have fun’s Don:t Let It End on Google Play.
AMA dropped Hills of Glory 3D last week, and if action is your thing it’s a game you’ll want to look into. You’ll have to defend a bunker against the Germans across 21 missions or you can get down and dirty in the games Endless Mode. The gameplay is basically the same as it was in HOG: WWII, but the graphics have received a major update. Hills of Glory 3D is free to download, but with heavy ad placement; the ads can be removed after the 4 stage via IAP.
Triniti Interactive has been cranking out releases lately and their latest is dubbed Tiny Legends: Heroes. It’s the sequel to Crazy Knight, and it puts to work trying to defeat the Dark Lord Necralis. You’ll get 70 floors full of team combat, and it’s a game you’ll want to check out if you’ve enjoyed Triniti’s other games. You can get Tiny Legends: Heroes for free on Google Play.
Grindle Oni A Zero is an oddly named puzzler of sorts that full of grinning skulls and skillful masters. The full version gives you 12 different games, 2 modes of play, and over 120 challenges so it’s pretty safe to say the game will keep you busy for a while. There’s a limited free version that gives you a feel for the game with 12 free levels, and if you like what you see the full version can be yours for $1.05.
