The Best New Android Games of the Week – June 30, 2013
A lot of great Indies found their way to Google Play last week, and a few of them made it on to our Best New Android Games of the Week list. There’s a little something for everyone this week including an Android version of the mother of all TCG games.
Noodlecake Studios always brings something fun to the table, and this week it’s a new puzzler by the name of Block Block Block. It’s a block-based color matching game that will lull you into a sense of complacency in the early levels before smacking you in the face with 200 tough puzzles. It’s a great game, and it’s free. You can check out Wegrass Entertainments Block Block Block on Google Play.
Point and Click adventure games are making a comeback, and The Silent Age is definitely one of our favorites this year. It’s the tale of a time traveling janitor trying to save the world from annihilation, and with his wits and wicked moustache. We highly recommend this one, and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.
Like Robots? Who doesn’t, especially when you can blast them to pieces and pick up the scrap. That’s exactly what you get to do in Asterogue as you take on a diverse group of robots in gesture based combat. There are also around 8 million weapon modules to discover… pretty safe to say it’s got some depth. You can pick up Real Human Games Asterogue for free on Google Play.
We’ve talked about Airport Scanner several times in the past few days, and with good reason – it’s awesome. You’ll get to live the life of an Airport screener, which is just as stressful as you’d think, but quite a bit of fun. You can read our full review of Airport Scanner here or pick it up for free on Google Play.
Every once in a while we come across a game you just have to play for yourself, and this week it’s Crazy Bill from Ivanovich Games. You’ll have to climb, jump, and shoot your way through the Zombie Stars Hotel which is full of zombies some of which happen to be famous. It’s action-packed, and it’s totally free to download on Google Play.
6. Magic 2014
If you’ve played a TCG you’ve heard of Magic the Gathering, and last week Wizards of the Coast finally brought it to Android. Magic 2014 Duels of the Planeswalkers brings the beloved card game to your favorite mobile device, and you’ll get several decks and a campaign to try things out. If you like what you see you can pick up the premium package via in-app purchase for $9.99. Magic 2014 is free to download on Google Play.
Everyone has played Tic Tac Toe, and Inception Tic Tac Toe from Kuvav is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a Tic Tac Toe game inside of a Tic Tac Toe game, with crisp HD graphics. The free version let you play against 2 different AI’s with several levels of difficulty while the Pro version ($0.99) doubles things up and adds hints & undo’s along with some other goodies.
