We’re back again with yet another edition of our Top Android Apps of the Week. This week’s list offers up something political, several social apps, photos with sound, and a handy little app for Borderlands 2 fans. Those are just a few of the apps that made our list so without further ado, we proudly present our picks for the Top 10 Android Apps of the Week September 23, 2012.
Borderlands 2 came out this week (great game), and I’ve spent the better part of the weekend playing it when not engrossed in college football. If you’re into the game me you already known about the Skill Trees and you’ll definitely want to get the Borderlands 2 Skill Tree app from GD Sweden. The app gives you everything you’ll need to know to build your character and it even lets you save and load builds. It could use a little tightening up here and there, but works great and is highly recommended if you’re into Borderlands 2. You can snag the Borderlands 2 Skill Tree app on Google Play for free.
Everyone’s heard of Siri by now, and Maluuba is the newest Android App to try and knock the queen of personal assistants from her lofty throne. Maluuba connects to services like Wolfram Alpha, Facebook, Yelp, Twitter, and YouTube to bring you the information you need quickly and efficiently all in an easy to use layout. I’ve had a good time playing around with the app over the past week, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a personal assistant app.
WiShare is a new app from Antara Apps that gives you a new way to use your WiFi connection amongst your friends while still keeping things safe & secure. This handy Android app lets you create a Wi-Fi network of sorts, but you’ll be able to control who can use it and what they have access to without ever having to give out your password. The app really works well and is a must have if you’ve got a lot of folks that like to share you’re WiFi when they come to visit. This one is highly recommended and best of all it’s free!
If you buy sporting goods at the mega retailer known as Dick’s this week was a great one for you as the company finally released their official app. The app lets you shop until you drop, manages your rewards, and gives you the latest news and special offers all from the comfort of your phone. You can pick up the Dick’s Sporting Goods Mobile app for free on Google Play.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week you’ve probably heard that the much hyped Chameleon Launcher has arrived and that it’s set to change the way you use your homescreen on your tablet. Personally I haven’t tried it out yet as it’s rocking a 10 dollar price tag, and the early reviews are mixed. It’s definitely an app to pay attention to though and if you want to give it a go you can pick it up on Google Play for $10.00.
6. Mitt Events
If you’re a Mitt Romney supporter a handy app came out this week by the name of Mitt Events. This Android app will keep you up to date with important news as well as live twitter & photo streams involving the Romney campaign. If you’re rooting for Romney it’s an app you’ll definitely want to have and you can get it for free.
Snapp! Is a new social networking app that lets you keep in touch and navigate using location technology. You’ll be able to post pics & messages, check in at venues, and use indoor maps to do a bit of navigating while you’re on the go. If you’re the social type and want to give it a go you can checkout snapp! For free on Google Play.
This app won’t be for everyone, but if you have a Plantronics headset (a lot of folks do) then it’s just the thing for you. Find MyHeadset does exactly as the title implies and helps you find your headset by sending audible tone. As long as you’re within 33ft of the missing headset you’ll find it, no worries. If you’re ready to end those hours spent searching for your headset you can pick up Find MyHeadset for free on Google Play.
Camera Paper Drawing Effect is a nice little photo manipulation app that lets you add a little style to your photos. You can see the effects in real-time and there are several different color options to play with. If you want to give it a go you can check it out for free on Google Play.
10. Voisnap Camera
Pictures are great and all, but have you ever wanted to take a picture with sound? If so Voisnap is just the app for you as it records audio whenever you snap a picture. You can share your masterpieces on Facebook and Twitter as well which is cool if you want to send a message along with a clip. Linever’s Voisnap Camera is free to download and you can get it on Google Play.
